Your Work Exclusion

A general liability exclusion for property damage to your own completed work. The cost to fix your own faulty work is often not covered, while damage it causes to other property may be.

What it means for your firm

Many forms include a subcontractor exception, which can restore coverage when the damaged work was performed by a subcontractor. Some policies remove that exception by endorsement.

How the exclusion applies depends on the policy wording, state law and the facts.
