Additional Insured (AI)
A person or company, like a client or owner, added to your policy so they can also be protected for claims arising from your work.
What it means for your firm
Contracts often require it on general liability, auto and umbrella policies. It is usually added by endorsement, sometimes on a blanket basis.
Being named as certificate holder is not the same as being an additional insured.
