Retroactive Date
The earliest date of work a claims-made policy looks back to. Work done before this date is usually not covered.
What it means for your firm
Many A&E firms keep the same retro date for years so all their past projects stay within the policy.
Changing carriers without carrying the retro date over can leave earlier projects without coverage. We check this every time a policy moves.
