Arizona Third-Party Plan Review (Single-Family)
Third-party review of single-family permits when a city of 30,000 or more misses 15 working days.
What the Program Requires
Municipalities with a population of 30,000 or more
Single-family residential building permit applications
If the municipality does not act within 15 working days after submission, once certain approvals are in place
A qualified third party selected by the municipality from its list of at least three reviewers. The applicant pays the fees.
The Details That Matter
The third party reviews the application under the municipality's requirements and notifies the municipality and the applicant of the results. The section does not apply to hillside development ordinance applications or required federal floodplain reviews.
Before You Take This Work
- Professional liability policies define the services they cover. Check that yours describes inspection and report work accurately, not only design, and tell your agent roughly how much of your revenue comes from this work.
- The statute does not set an insurance requirement for third-party reviewers.
